When Vanesa and I stepped into Sea Otter, tucked against an evergreen meadow on the Oregon coast, the goal was simple: we wanted to capture exactly what it feels like to just be there. Following our seasonal refresh for The Big Stump, we were thrilled to continue our work with Tiny Tranquility, focusing this time on the quiet, cozy craftsmanship of this specific home.

Rather than bringing in heavy staging, we let the space speak for itself. We spent our time chasing the natural light hitting the wood-burning stove and documenting those slow, coastal mornings—capturing a hand reaching for a fresh cup of coffee and a laptop set up at the workstation, perfect for anyone sneaking in a bit of remote work while listening to the ocean. And since Sea Otter is a dog-friendly retreat, we naturally wove in a few shots to show that four-legged guests enjoy the relaxing atmosphere just as much as their humans do.

We wanted to build a collection of honest, unposed images that let future guests imagine their own quiet stays here—whether they are logging off to listen to the waves, or starting their day with a warm cup of coffee. It’s about sharing the true, lived-in feeling of the space, exactly as it is.
